One Hour Trip Option: For those with small children or people who want a quicker experience, we offer a one-hour tube trip. This begins at El Dorado Park, which is downriver from the primary tube trip. On this trip, you simply get out of our shuttle and you are right at the water’s edge to begin your tubing. You still finish at the park, just before Lake Michigan.
You must be 10 years of age or older to operate a kayak on your own.
From May until the middle of August, all tubers must walk 200+ yards down a gravel road (carrying your tube and anything else you want to take with you) to get to the fish weir. This is where you get into the river and start your float trip. Footwear is recommended.
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park Pass is required for the Lower Platte River Trips. As a service to our guests, Trading Post sells the required pass. A seven-day pass is $25 and a one-year pass is $45.
Help us help you! Please be ready and arrive at least a half hour before your reservation so we can get you signed up and explain the trip to you. We generally leave on the hour with our trips. Reservations are recommended especially in July and August to avoid disappointment.
Just bring your friends and family and have fun! We carry everything else you will need to make your trip on the Platte River more enjoyable.
